Andaman Sea
Tired of the Breton winter dreariness. I want to go back to Thailand! To swim in the translucent blue of the Andaman Sea. Contemplate the breathtaking limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay and Koh Phi Phi. Climbing the rocky curves of Similan Island. Spinning on a long-tail boat to a beautiful beach... how about a little Thai sun?

I put below you some pictures chosen expressly to counteract the seasonal depression. A mix of Koh Phi Phi and Similan Island ...
Ah, the islands of southwestern Thailand. How beautiful they are!
Moreover, it was there that I met for the first time whale sharks and manta rays. Will I have this chance again, in a little less than four months?
I am like a child waiting for Christmas. The departure seems far far away ...
🙁
Oh my! As for me, it's just over 4 months to the Visayas. it's a long long long longggggggggg.
If you can give me a book on the Philippines, I'm interested.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for these photos! It feels good! Because, as you said yourself, it's seasonal depression ... and not just in Brittany!
For my part, I have to wait until February for the heat, which will be Australian ... (Perth)
Kisses!
Yes, but at least you have a date! I don't know when "Christmas" will be for me, but I swear I'm going to enjoy my presents that day... Thanks for these photos! It's all grey here too. Nothing more depressing than bare trees!
Ahhh... but what is this plugin that allows you to make your photos appear in Flash like this?... Superb effect, I really like it!
(uh... sorry, the pictures are a bit off-putting too... 😉 )
@ Eric: Yes, you need books to tide you over those long winter months... The great Philippine specialist is the German Jens Peter. He has published quite a few guidebooks, which are easy to obtain in English, I think, but I don't know if they've been translated into French. The best thing to do is visit his site, here:

🙂
@ Helen: Ah là là... Let's support each other, from Rennes to Geneva! I must say, your pictures of Cambodia really helped to dispel the gloom. Can't wait for February!

@ Marie-Julie: Yes, at least I have a goal! I know that the Canadian winter is much harsher than the Breton one. Our trees here aren't all bare. They're still blazing beautifully despite the gray rain.
😳
@ Marie Ange : Hey, hey!!! You're the only one who spotted that I was testing a new gadget. In fact, I'm using my usual plugin (the one I use to embed FLV videos) to insert this Flash animation into the WordPress page: it's called pb-embed flash. What's new is the animation itself, which is in fact the elegant SlideShow Pro associated with Adobe, which I had used a long time ago, and which I had stupidly forgotten at the bottom of my hard disk. I've just updated, and there are new functions. I did it all with my little hands, coding it myself to test it out, but Adobe offers extras to manage it easily from Lightroom, for example.
🙄
It's itchy too !!!
By the way, I tagged you...
The result is well worth the effort: pleasant and effective...
I like curves too! But I don't know when exactly I'll be able to skim them with my eyes 😳 Soon, later, who knows?
A les Similans, island n°4, Donald duck bay, the boulders, the view point, the little bungalows on the hill overlooking the Andaman Sea, the tents along the beach, the restaurant run by the rangers (mé pet, mé pet!!), the Thais swimming with life jackets... Oh, put... I have to go back!!! 😳
Phi-Phi, I like less with all these people who come to lie on a dream beach in search of the place where Leonardo put his buttocks and then the water is green ...
For the slideshow, there are plenty of them. In free DfGallery is fine: http://www.dezinerfolio.com/2007/06/07/dfgallery/
@ Orion56: Yes, these rocks are beautiful. A bit like those on Koh Tao, on the other side of the Gulf of Siam.
🙂
@ Marie-Net: Bigre! This is the first time I've ever been tagged!!! I'll get to it as soon as I can...
😉
@ Marie Ange : Yes, I like this kind of presentation. It's sober and elegant. The free DfGallery indicated by Alimata is almost identical.
🙂
@ Alimata: May pet, may pet... Not spicy, you bet! It's the same joke everywhere in Thai restaurants. 😆
As for Phi Phi, yes, it's true that it's not what it used to be. But the scenery is still fabulous. I've already talked about it here: Back to Koh Phi Phi, and there: The beach of The beach. Below, photo of said "Beach" (Maya Beach) well invaded ...
Finally, thanks for the link to the free DfGallery slideshow (another link I'd already stored in a corner and forgotten about). They call you Alimata-les-bons-tuyaux too, don't they?
😀
Indeed, very "pretty" photo !!!!
😀 😆
In fact, I've never been to James Bond island... Perhaps I'll be bold enough to make a detour to this mecca of Thai tourism on my next visit?
🙄
Speaking of cinema, you forgot to mention Phang Nah Bay and James Bond's famous rock, which is actually quite tiny!
I have a lovely photo that reveals all the splendor of the site 😆
