Feet in the sand
ENAnd here I am, on my island in Malaysia! Perhentian Besar, "the big one". Which faces Perhentian Kecil, "the small one", where I had already spent about ten days, three years ago.
Easy arrival. The Watercolours diving center, with whom I had made contact by e-mail, arranged everything for me in advance: speed-boat crossing, bungalow. I'll try out the dives tomorrow!
Tonight, I'll just post some pictures. I spent the day with my feet in the sand, not doing much, except to enjoy the translucent blue of the water.
On my way to the beach behind mine, Paradise Beach, I came across a shooting for the Malaysian TV. One of these soppy series, where the actors overplay their hand. Very funny.
The title: Biru Cinta Delagunawhich could be translated as "The blue lagoon of love", if I believe the explanations given to me by the guys of the film crew...
The cameraman was happy to pose. Another guy from the team invited me to the little party with fireshow they were organizing in the evening. But I'm too tired, I don't have the courage to move, especially since the dinner went on...
Yes, as I said before, it's hard to be alone when we travel solo!
I ate with Bettina, a German woman with whom I had dived in Bunaken in ... 2007.
We are staying at the same place! She recognized me and called me on the beach... We stared at each other with round eyes, incredulous. The world of divers is definitely very small!
Like me, she travels alone and carries her diving bag. It's funny, all the same, that we find ourselves, two years later, by the purest of coincidences, in Asia again.
Anyway. This little vacation is off to a good start. The pictures speak for themselves, don't they?
The ultimate luxury for the geeky traveler: there's even wi-fi on my beach!
On the other hand, no electric plug in my bungalow, it will not be convenient to recharge the batteries of the camera. I left the charger last night at the reception. We'll see tomorrow if they thought to leave it plugged in!
Anyway, I'm not going to start complaining...

Excellent, I dived with watercolors a few years ago, the little restaurant next to the club is excellent.
Watch out for the triggerfish, one ate my flippers and another bit the divemaster's ear... well, maybe it's not the breeding season yet!

@ Marie-net: Yes, the resto at Mama's is fabulous. Last night, I feasted on barbecued king prawns with spicy coconut sauce... Fabulous, that sauce!!!! The few trigger-fishes we came across didn't bother us. We must have passed far from the nest.

So yes, to answer your question: I connect directly to the WordPress admin, which allows me to fine-tune things and moderate comments appropriately. I'm lucky, here on Paradise Beach, in Perhentian Kecil, I have free wifi and connect directly to my own computer... Otherwise, when there's no wifi, I go through internet centers and other cyber-cafés, indeed.

@ N @ me: No, I've never had any problems so far. This is only the second time I've taken my little "travel netbook" on board, so my experience in this area is modest. Otherwise, in cybercafés and other Internet centers, I always remember to disconnect the sessions I open in my e-mail accounts, before leaving the self-service computer. Personally, I'm not that paranoid...
