And here I am, on my island in Malaysia! Perhentian Besar, "the big one". Which faces Perhentian Kecil, "the small one", where I had already spent about ten days, three years ago.

Feet in the sand. Paradise Beach, Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia. July 2009.Easy arrival. The Watercolours diving center, with whom I had made contact by e-mail, arranged everything for me in advance: speed-boat crossing, bungalow. I'll try out the dives tomorrow!

Tonight, I'll just post some pictures. I spent the day with my feet in the sand, not doing much, except to enjoy the translucent blue of the water.

On my way to the beach behind mine, Paradise Beach, I came across a shooting for the Malaysian TV. One of these soppy series, where the actors overplay their hand. Very funny.

The title: Biru Cinta Delagunawhich could be translated as "The blue lagoon of love", if I believe the explanations given to me by the guys of the film crew...

The cameraman was happy to pose. Another guy from the team invited me to the little party with fireshow they were organizing in the evening. But I'm too tired, I don't have the courage to move, especially since the dinner went on...

Yes, as I said before, it's hard to be alone when we travel solo!

I ate with Bettina, a German woman with whom I had dived in Bunaken in ... 2007.

We are staying at the same place! She recognized me and called me on the beach... We stared at each other with round eyes, incredulous. The world of divers is definitely very small!

Like me, she travels alone and carries her diving bag. It's funny, all the same, that we find ourselves, two years later, by the purest of coincidences, in Asia again.

Anyway. This little vacation is off to a good start. The pictures speak for themselves, don't they?

The ultimate luxury for the geeky traveler: there's even wi-fi on my beach!

On the other hand, no electric plug in my bungalow, it will not be convenient to recharge the batteries of the camera. I left the charger last night at the reception. We'll see tomorrow if they thought to leave it plugged in!

Anyway, I'm not going to start complaining...

  1. @Yves: Yes, I know, it's all on purpose. Just to piss off those at the office...
    😆

@Flo: it starts no better. Quiet relaxation to keep pace with the country. And in a few days, I leave the Perhentian to attack the serious things: Sipadan !!!
    😀

@benteslatoi: Your name isn't Funnyworld anymore? As I was saying above to Yves, these are photos I chose on purpose to piss you off, hey, hey!!!!

  2. It makes you dream .... 🙄
I can't wait to read the stories and see the photos to take us on a journey.

  3. @Franck S: I confess, I deliberately posted some dreamy images in this post... New stories and photos coming very soon!
    🙂

  4. Excellent, I dived with watercolors a few years ago, the little restaurant next to the club is excellent.
Watch out for the triggerfish, one ate my flippers and another bit the divemaster's ear... well, maybe it's not the breeding season yet!
Make the best of it !

  5. Hi Corinne!
Here we are back (unfortunately!) In Marseille, and I think we will continue a little holiday through your blog, we count on you! It was very hard to leave the Perhentians, so that we canceled Tioman to stay longer! It will be for next time!
Have a great time in this little paradise, and if you think of it, say hello to the Watercolours team (Nadine was my guide).
See you soon, to see your dives !!!
    😉

  6. What, you'd rather sleep than go to a party with an au-then-tic soap film crew? I couldn't resist, even washed up! lol
This island looks magnificent... Wi-fi on the beach, a DREAM!

  7. @ Marie-net: Yes, the resto at Mama's is fabulous. Last night, I feasted on barbecued king prawns with spicy coconut sauce... Fabulous, that sauce!!!! The few trigger-fishes we came across didn't bother us. We must have passed far from the nest.
    🙄

@Anthony: No Nadine here. Maybe she's on leave? But I'll ask and say hello to the team for you!
    😉

@ Marie-Julie: It was my first day and I'd only just arrived: jet lag, accumulated fatigue from the trip, needing to be in shape for the morning dive... I preferred to do the dives, too bad for the "soap on the beach" evening!!!

  8. We must close this blog !!!!!
It's outrageous these images, there are some who still work.
    Enjoy. 😆

  9. @Blue Lagoon: I know, I know... 😛
But I do not promise not to reoffend with new images.

@Paskle: Amazing! I had no idea you'd be so into my flip-flops...
    😆

  10. Oh! la la! This sea! Too beautiful, too soft. It's not going to make me envious of going to work... Are you going to be on local TV?
But all this makes me think that I haven't yet posted my visa application. Your blog is a reminder. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.

  11. Hello Corinne,
Well, for once I don't envy you! 😈
In a week to the day, we will also be in Bali for three weeks with, in the program, dives, unusual and unforgettable meetings, change of scenery guaranteed! 8)
Otherwise, we will put a little blog online story to give some news to the family and friends (a little history to share with them these wonderful moments).
💡 You who are "The" specialist of posts in the four corners of the world, what means do you use on the spot; the email sent on your blog or you connect directly in wordpress admin mode in cybercafés ❓
Otherwise (I have no doubt) enjoy these privileged and unforgettable moments 😉
    Happy holidays ❗

  12. @Nono: Local TV? Don't even think about it. I was content to sneak in and watch the scenes being shot...
For the rest, I enjoy! See you soon!!!
    😉

    @ N @ me: Hello Alain,
When it comes to posting comments, I don't know why WordPress decided all by itself to put you on "Undesirable". But don't worry, even if the messages don't appear, they're not lost, and I'll put them back in the right place afterwards.
So yes, to answer your question: I connect directly to the WordPress admin, which allows me to fine-tune things and moderate comments appropriately. I'm lucky, here on Paradise Beach, in Perhentian Kecil, I have free wifi and connect directly to my own computer... Otherwise, when there's no wifi, I go through internet centers and other cyber-cafés, indeed.
I wish you a very nice trip to Bali !!!

  13. Thanks for the tips 😉
Never had a problem hacking your computer or your app's mdp or you're connecting ❓
    I might be a little paranoid 😆

  14. @ N @ me: No, I've never had any problems so far. This is only the second time I've taken my little "travel netbook" on board, so my experience in this area is modest. Otherwise, in cybercafés and other Internet centers, I always remember to disconnect the sessions I open in my e-mail accounts, before leaving the self-service computer. Personally, I'm not that paranoid...
    😉

  15. Hello
It's been a while since I've been on your blog (well, I'm not on vacation! I'm working!) and I see that you've already left, I'm really a step behind ❗ in any case, when I see this blue, it makes me want to leave 🙄 well, I'll read on and follow your journey more closely... enjoy it and send lots of photos...

  16. @Laurence: I've just sent some images of the Sipadan backdrops... As soon as I have easier access to the internet, I'll post more photos!!!!
    😉
