The Philippines, you know where that is? That's where I'll be soon, very soon... In 23 days!

I don't know much about the Philippines. I've never been there. Right now, I'm poking around on the web, looking for information. Here it is:

The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands... For this twenty-day trip, I'll be confining myself to a group of islands in the center, the Visayas, renowned for their dive sites.

  1. Hello again,

I just sent you a message on your blog, and now I see this message. So from what I know of the Philippines, it's through my best friend who works there and went diving in Palau.
5 of the 20 sites considered to be the most beautiful in the world would be in Palau!

In any case, we envy you and wish you bon voyage.

  2. @ dekkiche:

    Hello Eric,

I received your message, thank you!

I won't be passing through Palau on this first trip to the Philippines, but it's a site I dream of diving one day... All the reports I've read about Palau are extraordinary. Your friend is very lucky to have dipped his fins there!

In any case, I can't wait to leave. I've pretty much defined my itinerary, which will stay in the Visayas. I'll tell you all about it in a future article...

    See you soon !
    😉

  3. Congratulations Corinne on this new version of your blog: elegant, sober, professional! I really like it.

Bravo! Look forward to reading your next stories and see your photos.

    See you soon,

    Marie Ange

  4. To Marie-Ange:

Many thanks for the compliments! I've just unearthed the new version of this WordPress theme, much more polished than the previous one. Hats off to the author of the original design, Jide.

I've taken the time to customize it to my liking, and to rectify a few small details here and there. I still have to check IE's behavior on certain alignments.

And you'll note that I agree with the comment you made to me by e-mail: I too prefer bamboo to bubbles for the header image... Firstly, it's a personal photo, and secondly, it's more elegant and less banal. Anyway, after testing different visuals, I'm back to my initial choice...

So here I am, almost ready to enrich the blog with stories and photos to match (I hope) this brand new design.

    See you soon !

  5. Hello to you.

It's been over a year since your site made me want to look for more exotic dives.
So I'm turning to Asia, and why not the Philippines?
At the moment I'm more interested in a total package, transport/accommodation/diving, not yet the globetrotting soul that you are.
My first idea is to turn to centers like UCPA (http://www.ucpa-vacances.com/sejour/PAACEBP11-plongee-dans-l-archipel-des-visayas-aventure/)

So I continue to search your blog for good ideas, and good plans.

  6. @ Algimax6: I didn't visit Palawan on that 2008 trip, because the island is so vast that it deserves a trip of its own. That said, the diver reviews I've read about the island are more mixed than for other parts of the Philippines: apparently, Palawan is worth more for the "land" than the underwater side. But it's also on my never-ending to-do list!
    😉
