Koh Lipe: underwater photos

I don't have much time to myself, since I'm back... I'm just starting to sort out my pictures from Thailand. And I can't believe I managed to bring back so many pictures, despite the whims of my camera. Here are, to start with, my underwater pictures of Koh Lipe.

By clicking on the image below, you will arrive in another window on my site Diving in South East Asia. I collect my underwater pictures since 2005, when I bought the housing for my small compact.

I'm in the process of completely redesigning the site. Some galleries are empty, others are still full of images not always well chosen. When I started, I had a less trained eye and I was less strict in my selections...

But I'm in the process of updating all this little by little. In the next week or two, you should be able to browse better quality galleries.

  1. I had a quick look at your site (just to take a break because I'm at work)... superb! I especially love the little "chubby" nudibranchs and the young yellow weighted trunkfish.
    Thank you !

  2. @Denis: Thank you Denis! Your appreciation goes straight to my heart. And know that the friends of the nudibranchs are my friends. (Yep, finally a boy who loves nudists!)
    🙂

@ Malene: Chic, another nudist fan! The great thing about nudibranchs is that they're photogenic and don't move around too much (unlike those cursed box-fishes, which are cute too, but not at all cooperative). I'm happy to offer you a colorful interlude at work...
    😈

@ Marie-net: I didn't slip my fingers into the reef's alcove to see if these shrimp were in the mood to give me a manicure. But where there's a concentration of shrimp, there's usually a cleaning station.
    🙄

  3. Hello,
Thank you for all these beautiful photos. I'm off to Koh Tao in 13 days for work, and thanks to you, I've been able to see lots of photos.

    Good continuation

    Manu

  4. Hello Manu, I wish you a good installation in Koh Tao.

I took my first underwater photos there. See here:

I see that you've reposted three of my Koh Tao photos on your own blog. I've got nothing against that, but the least you can do is indicate the source of the images, quoting the author's name and linking to the site where they come from, in this case, my other site "Carnet d'Asie du Sud-Est" : http://southeastasia.fr. Thank you to add it in your posts!

    🙄

ADDED: Yep, I know where you got them from, from Voyageforum.com. They're originally published on my site, except that they're not mine, but a friend's, Grégory Batardon's. I'll tag them properly.
    😉

  5. Your photos are more beautiful every time. It keeps me going until the vacations. 16 days, 18h and 27mn to go.

  6. and to think you didn't always have your camera!!! what beautiful photos, I particularly like your nudibranch in photo N°6 and also the magnificent porcelain ❗
I told you about a special nudibranch album, and now I've put it on my site, in the fetish section, with 93 photos to illustrate 60 nudibranchs.
so if you feel like it, go and see

  7. @Phylos: Thanks a lot! Come on, it's getting closer, you're almost there... I wish you a happy vacation with a little advance!
    🙄

@Laurence: No, it wasn't "my" camera, but as it was exactly the same model, I wasn't too lost in my settings. But I didn't take many sub photos on Koh Lipe, as there were two of us sharing the camera, and I devoted most of my dives to Rescue... Well, I'm off to see your nudis!
    😉

  8. Hi Corinne,
I love the sea slugs in particular! In fact, if you drop by my blog, you'll see some of the specimens I've photographed in recent days.
Anyway, it gives me a nice foretaste... only 2 months to go 😛

By the way, a little technical question for Malaysia: is it possible to book air tickets with airasia just 1 or 2 days in advance, or do you have to book earlier? (I mean to travel within the country, we'll be there for just 2 weeks, I'd like to avoid wasting too much time by bus or train... KL, Perhentians, Tioman, ...)

    Thank you for your advice!

    See you soon! 😉

  9. @Anthony: I just checked out your blog... We'll have to start a fan club for nudis!!!!
    😆

For Air Asia, you can of course book at the very last minute, but that loses a little of its appeal, as the price of the tickets will be much higher (the principle is, the earlier you buy, the cheaper it is) and it's not certain that you'll have availability on the plane you're interested in. Good luck with your preparations!

  10. Thanks for this detail... we'll manage to make an itinerary before we leave and buy tickets in advance!

Great idea, this fan club! Between the Mediterranean and Asia... there's plenty to do! 😀
