Maz and Alex are a couple of English ecologists and diving enthusiasts, that I had the pleasure to meet in Tioman. They are on a humanitarian trip (18 months, 65,000 km and 26 countries) for the Care organization. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The world of divers is very small!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
At the center, I am told that today I will dive with an English couple who work for the humanitarian association Care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Christophe, the French instructor, does not remember their names. Toni, the dive master<\/em> Spanish, does not know more. Jeffree, the Malaysian who runs the center Eco-Divers<\/a> can just confirm that the English are coming from the Perhentians, like me. (Yes, I know, it's a bit like a Spanish inn, the dive shops<\/em> in Asia!) As for me, I think I already know the English couple in question...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I was at <\/span>Perhentian Kecil<\/strong>A few days earlier, I did my BA, diving on the very last day. It was Saturday the 8th, I think. That day, Maz and Alex had come to the <\/span>*dive shop<\/em> tell us about their adventure, dubbed <\/span>**Overland-Underwater<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n*
An 18 months journey, 65 000 km, through 26 countries, mixing land trips and dives for the benefit of Care: each diving center that welcomes them gives 10 a 20% of the day's takings to the humanitarian association. The more divers registered, the more money they make! They had done the day's outings with us and then we had spent the evening together chatting over a few beers (and between divers, what do you think we talk about?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few minutes later, no mistake: they are Maz and Alex that I see coming! We fall into each other's arms. It's so nice to see familiar faces again! The exit of the day, particularly beautiful, on the site of Soyah Island<\/strong> (two wrecks + the reef) will be all the more pleasant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Underwater, they too are cold... That reassures me. Even experienced divers like them, with a thicker wetsuit than mine, are freezing when they surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, I discover that they are my bungalow neighbors! They too have landed in Mawar Chalets<\/em>right next to mine. The world seems really small sometimes. And of course, where do they plan to go next? I'll give you a hint. \u00c0 Sipadan<\/strong>, of course<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
