Before 2006

2006 is the year when I started blogging ... My travels before 2006 (Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Greece, Portugal, the Netherlands, Czech Republic, for the most outstanding) do not appear so not on Small Bubbles Elsewhere. But I put some pictures of Asia online (including scans of "silver" photos for the oldest of 1997 and 1999), on my very first site:
Carnets d'Asie du Sud-Est

  Between Two Journeys

  1. Hello Corinne,
    A hello from a colleague, first to tell you how much your site is really good, with great pictures, then to ask some advice.
    I travel a lot, but I have not had the chance to go to Asia. So, encouraged by your wonderful adventures, I want to do a first test, in November, in a short period of ten days. I am a fairly organized person, when I set up a trip (I usually rent a car and I go on the road), and suddenly, I'm pretty destabilized by your organization. So, when you say that a driver is waiting for you with a card when you leave your airport, how did you book, where, in what conditions. All this interests me, of course, I would like to leave in November, go to Angkor to see the temples, then go directly to the south of Thailand to discover two or three islands. Can you give me some advice?
    Very cordially.
    Jean Louis.

  2. @ Jean-Louis: thank you for the comment, very nice !!! 🙂 My organization? I find a plane ticket for the destination that interests me, then, depending on the places I want to see or sites where I want to dive, I contact by email structures on site (hotels, resorts, dive centers) . When they offer a pick-up at the airport, in general, I take advantage ...

    For the islands of southern Thailand, take the time to leaf through a typical guide Routard or Lonely Planet, you should already find a lot of information and advice. After you choose according to what attracts you, activities and excursions that you want to do, your budget, etc. 🙂

    1. Thank you for your answer 🙂
      My program is beginning to take shape, and for the very first time in Asia, I'm going to try to focus on quite simple things, like Thailand, just to see how I'm doing there ... After this first test, I 'hope to return to Asia, on some of your tracks (your photos are really beautiful and really want to discover all these magical places ...).
      In short, just a small question, but what is important: what level of diving do you need to discover all these underwater sites? I guess for cruises and dives, the level has to be even bigger?
      Best regards,
      Jean Louis.

    2. @ Loulou451: There are lots of beginner divers who enjoy these diving spots, whether it's day-trip or cruising. Some, even, do their training during a cruise or during their stay on site ...

      There are spots a little more difficult because of the currents, and for which it is recommended to have at least a little bit of experience. For example, for Komodo or Raja Ampat, it seems to me that most tour operators organizing cruises require a Level 2 or Advanced and at least 50 dives ...

      In any case, the guides adapt the dives and palanquées according to the level of the participants ...

      Good bubbles !!! 🙂

  3. Hello, very beautiful site. Congratulations. We are more than confirmed divers and are looking for a cruise of more or less 8/10 days on the spot in asia in the month of February. We think of Raja Ampat. Do you have any other suggestions or recommendations. Yours truly

    1. @Guy de Voghel: Thanks for the congratulations !!! 🙂
      I highly recommend Raja Ampat, by far the most spectacular dive spot I have seen until today ... For a cruise, February is the good time. I only dream of one thing, it is to return to Raja Ampat ... 🙄

      I'm talking about it here (I went there in March and July 2012):
      -> http://petitesbullesdailleurs.fr/voyage-raja-ampat-bali-indonesie-2012/
      -> http://petitesbullesdailleurs.fr/voyage-alor-raja-ampat-indonesie-2012/

  4. Wow, great your blog !! If you plan to travel to India you can take inspiration from our 😉

    I love your pictures and it made me want to go to Indonesia ....

  5. Hello Corinne,

    Congratulations on this blog, very nice to read. We travel by browsing the articles, frankly bravo!

    With my half we intend to leave three weeks in Indonesia in November 2014, but we put some reluctance about the climate of this archipelago. Our favorite is Sulawesie (Rantepao and Togian Island).

    Could you give us your opinion on the climate in this period, I found that there was an average of 280 mm of rainfall in the month of November, which corresponds to the beginning of the rainy season. Do you think it's practicable?

    Finally our goal is to go in Indo discover the land with their traditions and dive on pretty spots.

    Thank you in advance for your advice, and look forward to reading your future trip! Besides, do you have any idea?

    A plus and good bubbles.

    Geoffrey
