Kilometer Zero

The place is called "Kilometer Nol". Zero Kilometer. This is where Indonesia begins. It is the most westerly and northernmost point in the archipelago, just north of Pulau Weh, near Sumatra.

Borneo: arrival at Sandakan

The plane lands in Sandakan. Here I am in Borneo! The airport is tiny. I quickly get my bag, buy a coupon at the taxi counter at the exit and go directly to Sepilok, a few kilometers away, where is the Orangutan rehabilitation center.
